Graduated with a degree in Chemistry and Computer Science, Harley began his journey in photography via film and black and white darkroom work. After working in the IT industry for years he decided to go into photography full time since late 2014.
Think of photography as a person. Then every photograph is a collaboration. But what the human sees, feels, and comprehends are meaningless to the laws of physics, electronics and optics. The photographer thus needs to have a sense of objectivity. With this detachment I also respect the conundrum of the observer’s paradox.
My subject matters are the everyday, the unspectacular. Lines and angles, light and shadows, near and far. Mostly amongst street photography, street stills and cityscapes of whichever city I happen to be at.
